Welcome to Endohealth Acupuncture and Natural Medicine where Traditional Chinese Medicine is used as an holistic approach to health, to help you reach an optimal state of health and wellbeing.
What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used successfully as a system of medicine for thousands of years. In fact, before the use of western medicine, it was the sole form of medicine used to treat ailments and disease. TCM involves the therapies of Acupuncture, Massage, Cupping, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Diet Therapy. Chinese Medicine theory holds that imbalances in the body are mostly due to:
A disruption of energy and blood flow through channels (known as meridians) that run through the body
An imbalance of cold (yin) and heat (yang) in the body
By applying the therapies of TCM, disease can be prevented and treated, the balance of yin and yang can be restored and the disruption in energy flow can be released ensuring the body is left in a state of harmony and free from disease.
How Can Traditional Chinese Medicine Benefit You?
The benefits of Chinese Medicine are abundant. With the use of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and massage, disruption in the flow of blood and energy can be relieved, allowing the body to function more effectively. Some of the benefits of Chinese Medicine include:
prevention of occurrence of disease and imbalance
improved circulation of energy and blood to tissues
improved immune function
improved general bodily function
increased energy levels
relaxation, stress relief
relief of aches and pains
What is involved in a treatment at endohealth?
At endohealth, the aim is to prevent and treat the underlying root cause of imbalances in the body and restore it to a natural state of health and wellbeing. As a result, treatments are tailored to the individual ensuring that each person's unique needs and problems are specifically targeted, managed and cared for.
Your first visit to endohealth involves a comprehensive consultation and assessment, where not only your major complaint is addressed, but also other factors that may contribute to your current condition. This is achieved by taking an holistic approach to health, meaning that the body is assessed and treated as a whole. In doing so, we consider your:
emotional and spiritual wellbeing
diet and lifestyle
environment
Once an assessment has been made, a treatment plan is then designed specifically for you. This may involve an Acupuncture Treatment (which usually includes cupping and massage within the treatment), administration of a Chinese Herbal Formula specific to your condition; and diet and lifestyle advice. A typical Acupuncture Consultation and Treatment can take up to 1 hour, ensuring all your needs are addressed and treatment is not rushed.
